Questions for the Week of April 30th

1. Stacey tells Cassie that Big Ma had to make Cassie apologize. Stacey tells her that ". . . maybe she had to do it." Why does Big Ma make Cassie apologize to "Miz Lillian Jean"? What does Stacey understand that Cassie does not?

2. What is the significance of Uncle Hammer driving the same car as Mr. Granger? After the white people in the truck back off of Soldier's Bridge when the Logan's come along, what does Mama mean when she says ". . . one day we'll have to pay for it."

Big Ma makes Cassie apologize because if she didn't, they could of got hurt for it. Stacy understands that people get hurt and killed because their black and if they didn't aplogize, they could of got killed for it because they're a different color then the Simms. The significance that Uncle Hammer gets because he has the same car(packard) as Mr.Granger is respect. Ma means that someday they will suffer in some way because they tricked the people on Soilders Bridge.

Hy Everybody! This book is fabulous it is really exciting and just keeps getting better! I can not wait to read more.
A. I think that Big Ma makes Cassie apologize because she wants to keep Cassie and the rest of the Logans safe. Like they said in the book the nightmen will go after any "black" people who step out of line. So if she stood up to Lillian her family would be put in danger. I think that Stacy understands this only because he is older and he is now the man of the house so to keep the family safe he is trusted with more information than his siblings.
B. I think that the signifigence of him driving that car is that he wanted to be treated as though he were "white." And maybe to trick people also into thinking that he was Mr. Granger to gain there respects even if it is only for a few seconds. I think that there mom panicked because once again they were stepping out of line and tricking and doing things to "white" people. That might mean a visit from the nightmen! Cant wait to read more!

Whats upeverybody!
A.) I think that Big Ma made her apologize because she has "been around the block a few times." She has seen what white people will do to get respect. Stacey understands maybe because he has been there before. Maybe because he has seen people like Cassie get really hurt when they do what she did.

B.) I think the signifigence of Uncle Hammer driving like that was because he didn't care what the white men thought of him. He just wanted his freedom and his justice to be treated like everyone else. I think the mom freaked out because what he did on Soilders Bridge could make the white people punish them by death! Well I guess thats all I had to say. Bye!!!

Hello everyone in the 6th and 5th grade!
1. Ok, well I thought that these chapters where very sad! I hated the part where Lillian Jean made Cassie apologize to her! That was Terrible!!! Then her dad pushing Cassie off the sidewalk and making her call Lillian Jean Miz Lillian Jean!
I think that Big Ma made cassie apologize because she knew that Lillian Jean's dad might do something bad to Cassie's family if she didn't. He might be one of the night men and cassie would not have known it. So I think that it wasn't right that Big Ma made Cassie apologize, but it was for her, and her families good. As for the part about stacy. Well I don't really know.
I think that Stacy, being what 14, understands way way more than Cassie. Cassie is mad at Big Ma, but she doesn't understand. Stacy isn't mad at Big Ma because he understands why she had to do that. Ok now on to the second question.( I number them one and two).
2. well I think that Uncle H didn't get the same car as Mr. Ganger because he liked it. No,No,No, there is way more to it than that! He probablly got it because he liked and and he probablly wanted to see if people thought he was mr. Ganger! Now I thought that was funny. but, also dangerous!
When Big ma said that they would pay she was right! I think that the people who backed up are going to tell Mr. Ganger and then it's not going to be so good! I think that they certanlly are going to have to pay! I can't wait until then! But, I hope it's not to sad!!!!
Well I finished the questions an must be going now!

1.Big Ma made Cassie apoligize because if she didn't something bad definitely would have happened to them. Stacey understands that white people think their better than blacks, so for any little reason to make them mad white people will end up killing a black person. If Cassie hadn't apologized to Lillian Jean. there is no telling what would happen to Cassie and her family.

2. The fact that Mr.Granger and Uncle Hammer drives the same car is cool because they might get priviliges they never had.The only bad thing is, when the people find out who is really in the car, they might get really mad and it could turn ugly. When the wight people backed off of Soldiers Bridge whwn the Logans came along and Mama says one day they might have to pay, she ment that one daythey might get in big trouble because of what they did. They might all have to pay in a very nasty way.

Big Ma made cassie apologize to 'miz' lilian jean because if she didn't maybe it would only get worse, because mr. simms would get even madder and he might hurt her or something.

uncle hammer got respect when he drove over the bridge because they thought that he was mr.granger. mama meant that later they would be punished for tricking all the people.

Big Ma makes Cassie apologize to “Miz Lillian Jean” because she did not want Cassie to be hurt by “Miz Lillian Jean’s” family. Stacey understood that black were thought inferior to whites and that for now he and his sister had to respect that so they wouldn’t get hurt. Uncle Hammer drove the same car as Mr. Granger because he wanted to be mistaken for him and be let pass first over the bridge. When Mama said” . . .one day we'll have to pay for it." She meant that one day the whites that they passed on the bridge would take revenge.

Big Ma made her say she was sorry cause she was afraid that the white people would find out and kill and or hurt them.

Big Momma made Cassie apologize bacause she knew they would get in trouble.Casey understandsbecause he's mature. I dont know what significance means.Ma means that they'll get ravenge.

I agree with RKM6, it is to impress people.
Big Ma meant that one day the whites would get them.

Big ma makes Cassie apologize because she's black and if black people don't apologize, they could get hurt or even killed. I believe that that's unfair. It's not Cassie's fault she's black. It's never anyone's fault of what color they are.
Mr. Hammer gets respect because he rides the same car as Mr. Granger. Ma means that they will get in someway for tricking the people on Soldiers Bridge.

(-:Thats all I got, bye:-)

Big Ma made Cassie apologize because if she did not it would cause more trouble. I think Stacey understood because he knew that Cassie didn't know it would cause a lot of trouble.

He did it because then he could cross Soldiers Bridge. I think that she ment they would get into a lot of trouble soon.
